Ralph Martinelli, Publisher of Westchester Magazine, Dies At 57

Longtime Westchester Magazine publisher Ralph Martinelli died over the weekend at the age of 57.

Martinelli, an Ossining resident and CEO of Today Media, was an iconic figure in the county. His death on Saturday, Nov. 2 followed complications from surgery that he had more than a year ago.

Martinelli was the youngest son of former Yonkers Mayor Angelo Martinelli, who died in October last year.

During his life, Martinelli supported many Westchester nonprofits and sat on the Board of Directors for ArtsWestchester.

“(He) was a devoted ArtsWestchester board member for 15 years and partner to the arts in the county for more than 30,” ArtsWestchester stated on Facebook. “We have lost a Westchester visionary and a dear friend this weekend. ArtsWestchester offers heartfelt condolences to the entire Martinelli family at this time.”

Martinelli is survived by his fiancé, Halina, and his brothers Michael, Paul, Robert, Richard, and Tom. He is also survived by the next generation of Martinellis: Jeanette, Michael Jr., Lyda Jo, Chris, Nick, Christen, Jacqueline, Richard Jr., Rose, Jack, Sean, MacKenzie, and David.

Services have been set for Martinelli, with visiting hours scheduled from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 5 and Wednesday, Nov. 6 at Waterbury & Kelly Funeral Home on Pleasantville Road in Briarcliff Manor. A funeral has been set for 11 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 7 at St. Theresa’s Church in Briarcliff Manor.
